Vynecrest runs the oldest still-growing vineyard in Lehigh County, having been planted in 1974. After becoming licensed as a winery in 1989, they’ve expanded the vineyard several times and now oversee 75 acres of land (which produces ~25,000 gallons per year).

Overview

Focus is mixed between vinifera and hybrids, dry and sweet. Featured vinifera include Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Gruner Veltliner (coming soon), Lemberger, Cab Franc, Merlot and Pinot Noir.

Their # blend, numbered for the vintage it represents (#38 for 2015, #39 for 2016) has received considerable praise, winning Best of PA Farm Show: Governor’s Cup for dry grapes (2015 vintage) and being featured in the Top Wines of the 2019 Philly Sommelier Judgement (2016).
